The reality television show features the incredible transformations of ordinary Australians after making the decision to improve their health and fitness.

Last night’s episode featured Livio Caldarone, a pizza chef from the Sunshine Coast who gained 40 kilograms in just two years. Fearing for his health and suffering from low self-esteem, Livio held off on committing to a wedding date to his fiancé and mother to his two children, Holly, until he was able to bring back the man she fell in love with.

After more than five months of exercise and healthy eating, Livio travelled to Daydream Island where he unveiled his amazing transformation and 33-kilogram weight loss in front of his family and friends. With the wedding being the motivating event of his weight loss journey, Livio was also able to fulfill his dream of marrying the love of his life at their dream wedding destination where they said their ‘I-dos’ the very next day.

Holly and Livio were married at magical Lovers Cove, which is one of the most exclusive and private locations on Daydream Island. It offers the best of natural beauty, hosting a large wooden deck set on a white coral beach with waves rolling in just metres away and the Whitsunday Passage as the backdrop.
For an island location, this project was logistically huge.
Months of planning and preparation went into the episode, which involved organising barges to transport freight and lighting trucks along with the famous Sexy truck, which holds the state of the art Dexa body scanner over to the island. It was a multi-camera shoot and we were even lucky enough to witness a drone camera in operation, which was able to capture amazing aerial footage of the island.

Not only did Daydream host the wedding party on the island, but also hosted up to 34 Seven Network crew members over four days, along with high profile host Samantha Armytage, personal trainer to the stars Cameron Byrnes and stylist, Jules Sebastian.

Daydream Island Resort and Spa’s CEO Scott Wilkinson said he was delighted that Livio had chosen Daydream Island for his wedding and weight-loss reveal.

“We’re thrilled that we could be part of this life-changing moment for Livio,” he said.

“Daydream was the perfect backdrop for them and their family and friends who all contributed to a special experience.

“We strive to provide a memorable and enjoyable experience for all of our guests where they can enjoy quality accommodation, superior service, delicious food and a range of activities against the beautiful backdrop of the Whitsunday Passage.

“It’s the perfect place to relax and feel reinvigorated and renewed.”

He said the exposure and potential interest generated from the show for both the leisure and wedding markets would be invaluable.

Livio was amazed by the location and wedding on Daydream Island.

“It was the most wonderful experience; I had the wedding of my dreams,” he said.

“Daydream was the perfect place for a reveal and I felt like a superstar.”

Daydream Island is home to three stunning ceremony venues. Along with Lovers Cove, which featured on the episode, there is the Endeavour Wedding Chapel which is situated at the water’s edge and featuring a floor to ceiling glass wall behind the altar. Ceremonies are also held on the picturesque and iconic Mermaids Beach with Daydream Island’s signature bronzed mermaids and the Whitsunday Islands as the perfect backdrop.

The multi award-winning resort, which recently took out best ‘Waterview’ and ‘Resort Reception’ venue at the inaugural Queensland Wedding and Events of Australia ‘Awards for Excellence’, can cater for weddings from two right up to 250 guests. With eight magnificent reception venues available and with a dedicated team of wedding professionals, couples are spoilt for choice at Daydream Island.

“It’s wonderful that we can raise awareness of Daydream and the Whitsunday Islands like this,” Mr Wilkinson said. “We look forward to welcoming more people to beautiful Daydream Island.”
