As part of this exciting schedule of events, The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur is proud to offer THE INSPIRED STAY package. Presenting a truly unique experience for two, the package includes an exclusive suite and spa experience at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, VIP tickets to The Majestic Tiger Reception and Gala Dinner, and the onward journey from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok on-board the Eastern & Oriental Tiger Express for two nights, including a stay at the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok. This opulent once-in-lifetime experience is priced at AUD$10,219 (RM26,000++)*.

Organised by Save Wild Tigers, INSPIRE is a collection of once-in-a-lifetime events including an exclusive train journey on board the Eastern and Oriental Tiger Express from Singapore to Bangkok, starting with the launch of the spectacular Crystal Tigress Tour in Singapore. Created by the highly accomplished London artist Lauren Baker, the Crystal Tigress is a handmade sculpture using over 50,000 Swarovski crystals and will be showcased in the exclusive luxury mall Starhill Gallery in Kuala Lumpur from 11 to 30 September, 2014. The stunning creation will then make its way to The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur to be auctioned for Save Wild Tigers at The Majestic Tiger Reception and Gala Dinner on 3 October, 2014. Prior to its highly anticipated arrival in Kuala Lumpur, the Crystal Tigress will be displayed at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore from 19 August to 9 September, 2014.

The black-tie Majestic Tiger Reception and Gala Dinner is set to be a sensational combination of elegance and inspiration with guests including royalty, international celebrities and ambassadors. Arriving on the Eastern & Oriental Tiger Express train journey from Singapore, guests will include world famous TV fashion personality Gok Wan from the UK, Professor Dato’ (Dr) Jimmy Choo, OBE and UK actress Jaime Winstone. The train will arrive in Kuala Lumpur early evening on 3 October 2014, where all passengers will join the Majestic Tiger Reception and Gala Dinner. Profits from this unique train journey will also be donated exclusively to Save Wild Tigers.

The Royal Patron for the evening will be Her Royal Highness the Sultanah of Pahang. A fashion show, created by the esteemed Malaysian designer Dato’ Tom Abang Saufi, will support a series of exquisite pieces of entertainment which will run throughout the evening with Professor Dato’ (Dr) Jimmy Choo, OBE as Fashion Patron. A host of tiger-inspired art pieces and photography created by local and international artists and sculptors will also be auctioned off – of which all proceeds will go directly to Save Wild Tigers for Malaysian targeted tiger conservation programs in conjunction with Wildlife Conservation Society Malaysia.

Save Wild Tigers founder Simon Clinton is very pleased to be bringing his global campaign to the home of the wild tiger in Malaysia.

“Having grown up in Malaysia, I’m only too aware of the decline in wild tiger numbers both here and in the other 12 tiger range countries. In 1900, there were 100,000 wild tigers roaming the world, today there are just 3,000. Raising awareness of their plight by working international companies such as YTL is an ideal platform for us and we are grateful for their support. Time is running out – we need to save the wild tiger before it is too late,” said Mr Clinton.

Ralph Dixon, director of environmental investments at YTL Corporation and CEO of YTL-SV Carbon said, “Since 2006, the YTL Group has been looking at threats to ecosystems and wildlife species both on land and in the sea through continuous collaboration with NGOs including Reef Check Malaysia, TreeS and RARE Conservation. Some of these have been specifically to monitor the biodiversity and in particular the Malayan Tiger.

“We have supported Save Wild Tigers for three consecutive years in their fund raising events and awareness initiatives, culminating as their main partner this year. The focus of YTL’s sustainability strategy remains both the balance of stakeholder interests and Making a Good Future Happen. At the core of these partnerships are conservation, mitigation and adaptation,” said Mr Dixon.
