Selling the Sub Continent with Travel Indochina
Australia’s Asia travel specialist, Travel Indochina has released its ‘2014-15 India, Sri Lanka and Bhutan, including River Cruises and Safaris’ brochure with new accommodation and touring options, amid strong results to the sub-continent and particularly strong sales to Sri Lanka.
According to Travel Indochina’s Managing Director, Paul Hole, Sri Lanka has proven especially popular in the past year, with FIT up over 60% and Small Group Journeys doubling for 2013/14.
“Sri Lanka is developing its infrastructure rapidly and continues to receive glowing media, which has been a boon for tourism,” explains Hole.
“The country’s hotel and resort scene is providing contemporary accommodation options that offer excellent value. We’ve also begun offering our first FIT itinerary to Sri Lanka’s north, which just a few years ago was off limits and plagued by conflict, and which now reveals cultural riches, from Hindu temples to Dutch forts and beautiful tropical landscapes.”
“India is tracking well, and represents great value for travellers as accommodation prices are stable or decreasing due to greater competition and a strong Australian dollar.”
“Improved air connectivity to India’s many international ports also continues to facilitate Australian travel, and includes the resumption of long-awaited direct Australia-India flights by Air India.”
The 52 page brochure includes two pages dedicated to safaris and wild touring in India, as well as cruising. It also introduces welcome new accommodation options in areas in India of high demand and limited choice, such as the contemporary new Radisson property in Agra in close proximity to the Taj Mahal and the beautiful new Eighth Bastion in Fort Cochin – anther delightful addition to the town’s strong heritage offering with a strong Dutch influence.
Newly offered Sri Lankan properties include the delightful Avani Bentota Resort & Spa on picture perfect Bentota Beach between Colombo and Galle and the brand new and very contemporary OZO Colombo.
