Harley-Davidson enthusiasts can hit the road with a new destination in mind, with Best Western and Harley-Davidson Motor Company announcing a new range of Rider-Friendly® accommodation benefits for riders staying at over 75 participating Best Western hotels in Australia and New Zealand.

As part of the perks, Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) members who sign up to Best Western Rewards – Best Western’s global loyalty program – will be automatically upgraded to Platinum rewards status which includes 10 percent bonus points on each stay, a welcome gift on arrival, complimentary room upgrades, early check-in and late check-out when available. Plus, HOG members also receive an extra 10 percent discount off their accommodation.

When staying at the 67 participating Best Western properties in Australia or nine in New Zealand, guests will be able to park their Harley onsite and access complimentary wipe-down towels and a washing station. Extra benefits are offered at some hotels, including reserved spaces and secure underground parking.

Best Western Australasia’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Steve Richards said Best Western and Harley-Davidson, two brands synonymous with road travel, will continue to leverage their ongoing partnership to eliminate common dilemmas Harley owners experience on the road.

“We know it can be challenging for riders to find a hotel where they can park and clean their motorcycles after a long ride. We’re pleased to now offer these onsite maintenance facilities with extra stay benefits upon upgrading to our Best Western Rewards Platinum tier,” Mr Richards said.

Usually awarded to guests after they stay 15 ‘qualified nights’ in one calendar year, the Best Western Rewards Platinum upgrade is available exclusively for HOG members in line with the group’s evolving loyalty program strategy.

The added rewards would be welcomed by Harley riders who clock up more than 15,000 kilometres each year, according to Harley-Davidson Australia’s Customer Experience Manager, Kim Williams.

“Harley Owners Group members are hard workers by day and adventure seekers on the weekends. There’s no way to describe the feeling of freedom when you’re riding at up to 100kms on a motorcycle, and unfortunately, it takes away from the thrill when you’re struggling to find a hotel that will let you clean up and rest your bike at the end of the day.

“Harley-Davidson has a strong partnership with Best Western, and together we’ve come up with the perfect solution to give our members the on the road service they need to travel freely. As our partnership evolves, we hope to find new ways to take our members to some of Australia and New Zealand’s most beautiful destinations,” she said.

To mark Harley-Davidson’s 110th Anniversary in 2013, Best Western International and Harley-Davidson extended their global partnership for another three years.
