FloriadeCanberra, ibis Styles Canberra Eaglehawk – have further strengthened Accor’s position as a key partner in the nation’s capital tourism industry.

Novotel Canberra is once again the official accommodation partner for the Canberra Comedy Festival, second year running. The inaugural festival was successfully held in 2013, as part of Canberra’s centenary year celebrations. This year, the Festival returns with a bigger line-up of over 50 shows from 4 – 9 March and slated to put Canberra on the comedy map.
Floriade 2013 saw the involvement of all five Accor hotels in Canberra sign on with Events ACT as accommodation providers for the iconic event. The biggest celebration of spring and into its 26th edition last year, one million flowers in bloom is showcased throughout Canberra’s Commonwealth Park. More than 400,000 local, interstate and international visitors are welcome each year and the Accor hotels cater to a range of budgets and tastes while perfectly located to discover the best of Floriade 2013.
Novotel CanberraThis successful partnership will see further activation of other events involvement including Enlighten 2014 and The Canberra Balloon Spectacular.
Enlighten 2014 has been bringing Canberra to life after dark between 28 February and 8 March as cultural institutions across the capital host an array of exclusive events and surprising experiences, including Le Diner En Blanc, Gold and the Incas: Lost worlds of Peru as well as Dining in the House. Enlighten 2014 wraps up this Friday and Saturday with a free Fiesta festival at the National Gallery of Australia, where the sights, sounds and tastes of Latin America will be out in full force.
A ‘Cultural Getaway Package’ is currently offered by all five Accor hotels in Canberra in conjunction with the ‘Gold and the Incas’ exhibition until 21 April 2014.
The 28th Canberra Balloon Spectacular will follow this cultural illumination of the capital from 8- 16 March 2014, once again held on the lawns in front of Old Parliament House. A mass of various shaped hot-air balloons from all over Australia and overseas will inflate at sunrise each morning and fly closely to houses of government and buildings of national significance, one of the few places in the world where this is done. The range of Accor hotels in Canberra will perfectly accommodate participants in town for the ‘Spectacular’ who are eager to hop on and be part of the exhilarating backdrop to Australia’s national attractions.
