Dear Fellow Traveller,
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of travelling, unfortunately briefly, on National Geographic Orion in the Kimberley, but that short visit made quite an impact. I have said repeatedly that Australians have amazing geographies in their backyard and the idea that a region so stunning and filled with marvels is an easy voyage away, is truly remarkable. As one who has spent a lifetime exploring remote and pristine parts of the globe, I believe the Kimberley ranks as one of the most spirit-expanding places I have ever visited.
Ourjob is to provide meaningful expedition experiences for our guests and in the Kimberley we have incredible resources: an expedition team with ten years of local experience, augmented by knowledgeable Lindblad Expedition veterans, for a staff- to-guest ratio that ensures an exceptional experience. Plus, the best expedition ship in the region, National Geographic Orion, is equipped with a first-class suite of exploration tools to reveal the many facets of the Kimberley.
Then, when you have the prospect of a Kimberley experience before you, isn’t it great to know that you’ll make memories and have a visual record, too? On National Geographic Orion, you can confidently assume it. A National Geographic photographer and a Lindblad-National Geographic certified photo instructor accompany every departure this season—to inspire and help you. I find that guests who might never have considered themselves photographers get involved in the photography fun aboard and end up thrilled with their results, whether they’re using a smartphone camera, a point-and-shoot, or sophisticated gear.
I am very gratified that the Kimberley is part of the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic global expedition portfolio. On behalf of our enthusiastic team, I look forward to welcoming you aboard and to sharing a Kimberley adventure with you in 2014.
All the best,
Sven-Olof Lindblad
