The Langham, Auckland has announced the appointment of Mr Franz Mascarenhas to the role of Managing Director. Mr Mascarenhas returns to Auckland to join The Langham with over 30 years hotel experience, holding different functional leadership roles in two global hotel brands, including positions in Malaysia and Auckland, and also pre-opening assignments in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Prior to joining The Langham, Mr Mascarenhas managed the re-opening of the Park Hyatt Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Mr Mascarenhas has replaced Mr Jeffrey Van Vorsselen who is moving to China to head the opening of Eaton Luxe and Langham Place Rio Carnival, Qingdao. The project consists of 2 hotels with over 700 elegantly appointed guest rooms, serviced apartments, Michelin starred Chinese restaurants and the hotel group's signature spa brand, Chuan Spa.
