South Africa and Seychelles Ministers of Tourism on the popular SABC2 Morning Live TV program as INDABA Tourism Trade Fair opens in Durban |
(Forimmediaterelease.net) South Africa’s Tourism Minister, Mr. Marthinus van Schalkwyk, and his Seychelles counterpart, Mr. Alain St.Ange, the island’s Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, were both on the popular SABC2 Morning Live TV program on Friday. This South Africa Broadcasting Corporation channel is a popular TV program with a big nationwide following.
The live interview filmed at the Heritage&Cultural Pavilion at the Durban Exhibition Center was the opportunity for the Tourism Ministers from South Africa and the Seychelles to discuss strategic partnerships between the two countries.
Minister van Schalkwyk of South Africa spoke about the importance of INDABA, the African Tourism Trade Fair that is staged annually in Durban, and Minister St.Ange of the Seychelles on his part said that the time had arrived for this tourism fair to be seen at the African Tourism Fair where Africa as a whole showcases itself to the world.
Minister Alain St.Ange also said that Africa must work with Africa if Africa is to be strong and attract its fair share of the tourism trade. The Seychelles Minister used the opportunity of that live television interview to present his island’s unique double coconut, called the Coco-de-Mer, to the South African Minister accompanied by a “Seychelles, the Coco-de-Mer” book written and published by the Minister himself.
Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk announced the planned signature of an MOU between Seychelles and South Africa in August which is set to reinforce the existing partnership and cooperation between the two countries.
