THE full spectrum of South American life, culture and scenery is encompassed in a new 27-night land/cruise itinerary which explores the best of Argentina, Chile and the Antarctic region and is available through ecruising.travel
Land arrangements which take in the best experiences available in Brazil, Chile’s Mendoza region, Iguazu Falls and the Cape Horn/Antarctic region are combined with 16 days cruising with the luxurious Azamara Club Cruises.
The journey departs Sydney on a LAN Airlines flight on January 13, 2012 before spending four days in the Argentinean capital exploring historic La Boca, elegant Palermo, the Parana River Delta and taking dinner at a local tango show.
The tour then takes a flight to Mendoza for three days wining, dining and visiting several of Chile’s finest vineyards before returning to Argentina to board the Azamara Journey to make calls at exotic ports like Montevideo and the Falkland islands with three days sailing through the Antarctic region, Cape Horn and Ushuaia before making a final stop at Puerto Madryn on the way back to Buenos Aires.
This grand itinerary of grapes, glaciers and cataracts is rounded out with three days at Iguazu to explore both the Brazilian and Argentinean sides of the famous Falls.
The 27-night package costs from $13,079 and includes return air fares from Sydney with taxes, all accommodation with some meals and comprehensive sightseeing, the 12 nights at sea with all meals and entertainment, airport transfers. Sightseeing tours from the ship are not included.
