China Southern Airlines now offers nonstop flights from Guangzhou to Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, gateway to the Himalayas and the world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest.
The airline has introduced two weekly Boeing 757-200 flights between the cities, operating every Monday and Friday.
Although Nepal and China are close neighbours, the Nepalese people offer a rich cultural heritage and a hospitality that is unique not only among Asian countries, but worldwide.
Set beneath the south face of the majestic Himalayas and situated in the birth country of Buddha, Kathmandu has established itself as a highly spiritual destination with religious architecture dating back to 12th and 18th centuries.
“In Kathmandu, the experiences are amazing and the views are breathtaking,” said James Liu, General Manager Australia for China Southern Airlines. “Mountaineering, trekking, World Heritage Sites and even a lively nightlife are just a few of the attractions drawing visitors to this fascinating city.”
China Southern Airlines offers two weekly flights from Melbourne to Guangzhou and four flights per week from Sydney to Guangzhou, with connections onto Kathmandu.
