Sunshine Coast Hinterland Open for Business

With the worst of the wet weather leaving the region, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland wants the world to know the sun is shining, waterfalls are flowing and they are open for business.

Over the Australia Day weekend, the region experienced wet and windy conditions and some localised flooding as a direct result of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald.

Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) Tourism Development Manager, Michael Donnelly said, “Bookings were affected over the weekend with cancellations due to the weather and power outages affecting some business trade, but overall there was limited infrastructure damage. The Sunshine Coast Hinterland is accessible, open for business and ready to welcome visitors.

“Unfortunately, the perception that businesses are still affected is hurting our Hinterland tourism operators and impacting forward bookings. We encourage visitors to show their support for the region and book a Sunshine Coast Hinterland holiday, perhaps even for Valentine’s Day or Australia Day ll to be celebrated on Saturday 23 February,” added Michael.

From secluded hinterland accommodation, to five star resorts, and coastal retreats, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland offers every type of romantic getaway.
