A Birmingham woman booked her family a flight to Spain - and a hotel in Germany.
Christina Cooke scouring the internet for three weeks before reserving a hotel room which she thought was on the Costa Del Sol.
But when the family arrived in Benalmadena, they couldn't find the Avalon Hotelpark, reports the Daily Mirror.
They finally discovered it was 1,000 miles away - in Germany.
Christina, 28, partner Mark, 32, and daughters Charlotte, eight, and Alice, five, lost the £500 cost of their booking and had to spend £1,000 on another hotel and food.
Christina said: "I've got the wrong address before but never the wrong country. I thought I was being clever by cutting out the middle man. I'd managed to confuse the addresses."
The disaster emerged from an Airtours survey of 1,500 Brits who organised their own DIY trips instead of package holidays. |
