Small Luxury Hotels of the World Seeks Mystery Inspectors

Luxury Brand To Give a Select Few "Dream Job"

Have you ever stayed at a hotel and looked under the bed but found no dust, checked the bathtub only to find it pristine or timed room service and been astounded at how quickly they delivered that much wanted midnight snack? If so, you might be exactly what Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) is looking for! The brand of exclusive, privately owned hotels around the world is on the search for mystery inspectors and it is giving experienced and discerning travelers the opportunity to see if they have what it takes.

The luxury brand of SLH comprises over 370 hotels in 60 countries and prides itself on having a stringent quality control program whereby each hotel is subject to a thorough - but clandestine - inspection every other year. SLH is now inviting well-traveled individuals to put their skills to the test and be the company's eyes and ears out in the field. These individuals, who will be expected to be familiar with what constitutes a luxury hotel experience, will have an opportunity to secretly inspect some of the finest hotels in the world.

"Who better to judge the pluses and minuses of a hotel than a discerning, experienced traveler? Enlisting guests in the quality control program not only enables our customers to be directly involved in the process but allows our hotels to shape operations based on their guests' opinions and experienced insight. As far as the hotel is concerned, this means that every hotel guest is a potential inspector," commented Paul Kerr, Joint Managing Director of Small Luxury Hotels of the world.

The privileged few that are selected to experience what would be most people's dream job will, depending on the location, spend one or two nights at an SLH property, where they will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing every aspect of the hotel - from service levels to the standard of the furnishings to the quality of the food and beverage.

Hotel inspections may take guests to an exotic island retreat in the Indian Ocean, a resplendent chateau in the French countryside or a hotel in the centre of a vibrant city hub. After the inspector's stay, the mystery man or woman will complete a 20 page report detailing their thoughts on each area. Perhaps the towels weren't fluffy enough, the staff's knowledge of the local area was severely lacking or everything was just perfect. SLH places such confidence in its mystery inspectors that their comments will have a bearing on whether or not a hotel remains in membership.
