Readers of leading UK luxury travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller have voted Voyages
Longitude 131 and Lizard Island in the top 10 Australasian and South Pacific resorts
in their annual survey of the world’s best luxury properties, with Longitude
making the Top 100 overall. According to Voyages’ Executive General Manager Operations Darren Cann,
the ratings are testimony to the standing of both properties as two of Australia’s
finest luxury resorts.
“The combination of ultimate luxury and spectacular wilderness destinations
such as the Rock and Reef is obviously a winner,” he said.
Voyages were the only operator to feature two properties in the Top 10 ‘Best
Hotels – Australasia & South Pacific’, with Sails in the Desert
Hotel at Voyages Ayers Rock Resort just missing out in 11th place.
“To have 3 individual properties in the top 15 of such a prestigious
magazine’s annual awards is fantastic,” said Mr Cann. “What
makes this prestigious accolade so special is that it comes from the magazine’s
readers: people who had actually stayed at the resort.”
According to Condé Nast Traveller, the ninth annual awards reveal the best
the travel world has to offer. Readers use an index of satisfaction with travel
facilities and services, scored out of a maximum of 100. Criteria such as value
for money and service, amongst others, were used to calculate an average mark
which then determined the overall satisfaction percentage.
