Travel + Leisure's International brand expands into key Australian tourism market

Fairfax General Magazines, publisher of Travel + Leisure Australia, today announced on behalf of American Express Publishing Corporation, the launch of a new Travel + Leisure South Asia edition, published in one of Australia's two booming tourism markets.

The new magazine published by Media Transasia hits Asia's newsstands today. This edition is the sixth of the magazine's growing, and influential, international network of titles. No other travel title published in Australia can offer such international synergies for the Australian tourism industry.

Travel + Leisure South Asia will be published in English and will be distributed in India and other countries in the region. This comes a month before the publication of the Australian edition's first anniversary issue.

Editor of Travel + Leisure Australia, Anthony Dennis said, "The latest foreign edition of Travel + Leisure provides the potential for a unique platform for the Australian tourism industry with India, along with China, being the two key growth markets for foreign tourists to Australia. In India alone, tourism is growing at 11 per cent annually."

Whilst the Travel + Leisure South Asia edition will be edited in India, some content will be sourced from the US edition and other Travel + Leisure titles including a feature from the Australian edition in the first issue, with more planned.

"This is a rare opportunity for Australian travel and tourism operators to gain exposure in the well-heeled market from South Asia. With more than 6.5 million travellers, and rising, in this region holidaying abroad last year, Travel + Leisure South Asia will be the obvious destination for high income, English-speaking travellers," said Dennis.

Travel + Leisure Australia publishes 10 times per year with the current special Asia issue on sale now.
