WOW! It's time to walk on the wild side
Australia's wildest new experience, Sydney Wildlife World, opens September 20.
One of the most exciting phenomenons Australia has ever seen is about
to open in town, with the launch of Sydney Wildlife World.
Showcasing Australia's wonderful, unique and bizarre wildlife in an
unparalleled world-class environment, Sydney Wildlife World will
feature the world's largest variety of Australian flora and fauna under
one roof, with approximately 6,000 animals in total.
Situated in the heart of Darling Harbour, adjacent to the Sydney
Aquarium, the attraction will feature 1km of walkway across two floors
and more than 7,000m² (two football fields). Sydney Wildlife World will
be your guided tour to the native Australia you've never known.
Visitors will go on a journey of discovery and gain genuine insight
into the amazing world of Australian plants and animals. All exhibits
represent a particular animal and ecosystem/habitat - from massive
rhinoceros cockroaches and yellow-footed rock wallabies to stunning
Ulysses butterflies and the biggest, most dangerous bird in the land,
the cassowary. Just watch out for the dung beetles and stink bugs!
Fascinating WOW! facts will be found throughout Sydney Wildlife World
and everyone will learn something about Australia they could never have
imagined. For example, did you know that butterflies have taste buds on
their feet? That there are 300 million insects for every human alive
today? A cricket's ears are on its legs? Or that despite popular lore,
koalas aren't drunk on Eucalyptus? Sydney Wildlife World will ensure a
truly eye-opening and mind-boggling experience.
"This amazing new attraction will offer a multi-sensory and remarkable
experience to visitors," said General Manager of Life Sciences, Craig
Sowden. "It will showcase and promote Australia's fascinating animal
and plant life in a creative and fun way, with the sounds, sights and
smells of Australia's unique environment.
"It's a place for locals and tourists alike to have fun whilst getting
up close and learning about Australia's wondrous wildlife in a central
and accessible location."
Sydney Wildlife World exceeds industry standards on exhibiting animals,
providing the best possible homes for every precious animal. The
attraction is committed to the care and conservation of the Australian
environment and aims to educate visitors on current environmental
threats. Additionally, in partnership with the Australian Wildlife
Conservancy, the Sydney Wildlife World Conservation Foundation will
raise funds to help safeguard Australia's threatened wildlife and
ecosystems.
Sydney Wildlife World will be a home to all things fury, scaly, hairy
and even spiky - so pop on down to see Australia's native animals in
their own environment, close to yours.
