Coral Princess Cruises And Orpheus Island Create The Ultimate Reef Escape

Coral Princess Cruises and Orpheus Island Resort have combined to create the ultimate Great Barrier Reef cruise and accommodation package, offering guests the opportunity to spend three nights at the exclusive Orpheus Island Resort. This wonderful 5 night package allows a leisurely reef cruise and exclusive island experience and can be taken from either Cairns or Townsville.Departing Cairns on alternate Saturdays until 7 October, the Coral Princess cruises the outer Great Barrier Reef visiting the spectacular Thetford Reef, Sudbury Cay, Coates and Nathan Reefs, Dunk Island, Hinchinbrook Channel and Pelorus Island, before transporting passengers to Orpheus Island for three nights and then transferring them via seaplane to Townsville.

Or alternatively, departing Townsville on alternate Sunday until 8 October, the seaplane flight embarks for Orpheus Island for 3 nights. Then, on the morning of the third day transferring across to Pelorus to join the Coral Princess for more outer reef adventures and experiences. On the final day the cruise docks in Cairns.

The Coral Princess is an expedition-style cruise ship which carries just 54 guests - large enough to provide all the comfort and facilities of larger cruise ships, yet small enough to provide guests with personal service and individual attention. Coral Princess Cruises aims to create intimate environmental experiences that incorporate soft adventure with expedition style encounters.

On board facilities include dining room, a modern air-conditioned lounge, sundeck and spa pool; reference library; phone and fax facilities; cocktail bar and shop. A marine biologist and glass bottom excursion vessel is on hand allowing access to reef and island sites inaccessible to other vessels.

The privately-owned Orpheus Island Resort is an exclusive sophisticated hideaway nestled amidst the coral-fringed Orpheus Island Marine National Park. With a limit of 42 pampered guests, privacy is assured with the exclusion of telephones, televisions, day-trippers, nightclubs or children. Dining is an unforgettable affair with the sensational seven-course degustation evening menu. Orpheus is renowned for its premium yet personalised and friendly service. At Orpheus, your every need is anticipated and taken care of with maximum care and minimum fuss.

A careful and ecologically sensitive program of activities that are relaxed and educational is offered - everything from picnics on secluded beaches to snorkeling, kayaking, guided walks and sunset cruises - or you can simply laze by the pool or on the beach and soak up the sun.

Cost for the six-day voyage is AUD$3995.00 per person twin share including two nights in an air-conditioned stateroom aboard the Coral Princess and three nights in a beachfront Orpheus Retreat room on Orpheus Island; seaplane transfer to Townsville; all meals; complimentary scuba experience; presentations by marine biologists on board and unlimited use of motorised dinghies, paddle skis, catamarans, canoes, snorkelling equipment, local snorkel trips, fishing gear, tennis, bushwalking and selected interpretive activities on Orpheus Island.
