A Colourful Adventure Begins for Korea Tourism
Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has launched a new ?Colourful Adventures' theme for Korean tourism.
The new ?Colourful Adventures' leaflet gives Australians ten unique and
exciting ideas to plan their very own colourful adventure in Korea.
Visitors to Korea can enjoy some unique adventures such as meditating
with monks during a stay at a Buddhist temple, getting covered in mud
at the Boryeong Mud Festival, sweating it out in a Korean style sauna
or making kimchi and cooking Korean cuisine.
Korea truly is a nation of many colourful adventures but most
Australians are unaware of the new experiences they can enjoy while
travelling in Korea.
The new leaflet will assist Australians to plan their holiday to Korea
by giving them new and exciting ways to experience Korea and its unique
culture.
Australian interest in Korea has grown consistently over the past
couple of years and last year more than 65,000 Australians visited
Korea. Since the FIFA World Cup in 2002 interest worldwide is now at an
all-time high.
Korean cuisine in particular is becoming known around the world
especially for its well known health properties. The American monthly
magazine Health announced this month Korean kimchi as one of the
world's five healthiest foods. The magazine said kimchi is loaded with
health-giving properties and is well known as an anti-cancer food.
Kimchi is widely available in supermarkets and Asian grocery stores
around the country.
Another big win announced this month was the news that Incheon
International Airport in Seoul won the ?Best Airport Worldwide' award
conducted by ACI and IATA. In a survey of over 100,000 passengers
worldwide throughout the past year, Incheon International Airport came
out number one beating Hong Kong International Airport in second and
Singapore Changi Airport third. Incheon International Airport opened in
2001 and was built with the plan for it to be the hub of north-east
Asia, not only for trade and business but tourism as well.
The ?Colourful Adventures' leaflet is available from the Sydney office
of Korea Tourism Organization by email: visitkorea@knto.org.au or by
