The extensive catalogue of TV travel producer Greg Grainger is to be released on DVD.
Flashback Home Entertainment Pty Ltd is releasing the productions under
the title GRAINGER'S WORLD with series one comprising 15 titles, which
will be released for sale worldwide..
Flashback Operations Director Barry Hume says the launch in April is to
coincide with a large increase in interest in documentaries around the
world. "We are thrilled at having secured the Grainger library. Greg
has filmed in the most remote and exotic corners of the globe, and has
captured compelling images and experiences."
The Grainger catalogue has previously been aired in Australia on
Channel Seven's WORLD AROUND US, across Britain and Europe, on the
Travel Channel, and across North America on the USA Travel Channel.
Grainger's highly acclaimed adventures have captured on film the
activities as diverse as sky burials in Tibet to shark riding in Tahiti.
The DVD launch relives 20 years of Greg's expeditions roaming the globe
in search of the ultimate adventure and wildlife experiences.. His
filming trips have captured the wildest extremes of the Arctic,
Antarctic, and Africa, as well as the Andes and the Himalayas. He's
been knocked down by a cheetah, wounded by an elephant and bitten by a
shark. Greg's adventures include the world's first white water rafting
trip through Tibet to a kayaking first around the top waterways of
South America. He recently crossed the sub-Antarctic island of South
Georgia in an expedition following in the footsteps of the great
explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton.
GRAINGER'S WORLD DVDs will be available at major DVD outlets. Barry
Hume has produced over 1000 separate unique four colour displays to
showcase the Grainger catalogue. These distinctive point of sale
displays are instantly recognisable from a TV commercial which will
support the launch on April 3 and show the consumer exactly where to
purchase the DVDs.
A winner of the prestigious Logie Award for Top Australian Newsman,
Greg Grainger has worked for leading radio and television stations in
England and Australia for the past 35 years. His track record includes
radio station general manager and news director to prime time national
television news presenter. |
