"ART IN THE PARK"...

at Araluen Botanic Park - Sunday 26 March, 2006

Following the success of the earlier Art in the Park events at Araluen Botanic Park, Roleystone (WA) during January and February, the Park has announced that they will continue to be held on the last Sunday of each month.

Families and artists are encouraged to attend the next Art in the Park event, which is scheduled on Sunday 26 March from 10am to 4pm.

Art in the Park features displays, demonstrations and sales of works by some of WA's finest mixed medium artists.

"We see Art in the Park as an excellent fit with the special ambience of Araluen and the various experiences that already exist within, such as the Chalet Healy Tearooms, Roundhouse Gift Shop and the Araluen Train," says Park manager, Rod Ross.

"We are delighted that strong public and participant support has assisted us to get this concept off the ground.  We consider this event to have the potential to become a major daytrip destination of choice," he adds.

Special attractions on the day include: -

·        Art in the Park display by some of WA's finest mixed medium artists.

·        Abundance of both native and exotic plant species in flower.

·        Araluen Train rides - by gold coin donation

·        Morning/Afternoon Teas & Light Lunches at the 1930's Canadian log cabin Chalet Healy Tearooms

·        Range of special giftware at Roundhouse Gift Shop

Of course, Araluen Botanic Park is a wonderful place to visit at any time of the year due to its moderate climate and running water all year round.  It is open 9am to 6pm every day and features beautiful native and exotic gardens, bush walks, picnic and BBQ areas, Chalet Healy Tearooms & Function Centre and Roundhouse Gift Shop.  Electric scooters and wheelchairs are available for special needs and all public amenities include disabled/parenting facilities.
