Pure Galactic Races Towards The Final Frontier

Pure Galactic will provide adventurous travellers with the world's first commercial space flights within the next two years. Passengers will travel 100km above the Earth to experience the sensation of weightlessness for up to four minutes and enjoy the most spectacular views of their home planet.

"This is no longer a dream," said Wesley Baker, CEO of Pure Galactic "Suborbital space tourism is the next step for our company, and this new partnership with Rocketplane is just the start of our space tourism program".

Rocketplane has spent more than five years developing a Lear 25-series business jet into what will become quite literally a rocket plane. A range of high-tech modifications, such as a deltoid wing and the installation of a rocket engine, life support system and reaction control system will allow the craft to soar into space. This unique approach has seen the company forge ahead of competitors in the race to offer the first commercial space flights.

The company plans to have the first plane ready for test flights from the Oklahoma Spaceport by the end of this year, with Pure Galactic offering Rocketplane XP commercial flights in 2007/08. Pure Galactic plans on eventually acquiring their own spacecraft for operation from a spaceport site to be determined in the United Kingdom.

Pure Galactic's range of space charter flights will also feature zero gravity parabolic flights and ultimately orbital Earth flights.
