Roll up your swag, polish your spurs and saddle up for the fourth
annual free Country Rocks music festival!
Headlining this year's festival is Beccy Cole who
was named Country Music Association of Australia's 'Entertainer of the Year' in
September. Cole's song, Rainbows, Dreams and Butterflies, the first single
from her Feel This Free album, hit the top of Country Music Channel's charts
only a month after release earlier this year.
Another highlight of the
festival will undoubtedly be the young, rising star of country in Australia,
Travis Collins, who won the gong for Starmaker at the 2004 Tamworth Country
Music Festival Awards.
Now in its fourth year, the festival showcases the
finest country music talent from around Australia along with some of the best
up-and-comers in the local industry including chart topper Steve Forde and the
Flange, Golden Guitar nominee Jake Nickolai and Aleyce Simmonds who currently
holds the number one spot on Country Music Channel's most requested video
clips.
The festival's four stages will feature live entertainment
throughout the day while buskers from across the nation will perform along
George Street and in the historic cobblestone laneways of The Rocks. For
the first time, Country Rocks will add an extra live venue, located in George
Street, featuring Blues and Roots artists.
Fans can enjoy performances in
a variety of settings including the main stage at the Overseas Passenger
Terminal Forecourt, on the grass in First Fleet Park or in the intimate
surroundings of The Rocks Square which is being revamped to include a stunning
new shade canopy.
All performances are FREE and fans can meet their
favourite country music stars for autographs after each act.
