Photography Retreat at Binna Burra Mountain Lodge
Here is your opportunity to learn more about photography in the best natural
studio on earth at Lamington National Park from 5-8 December.
Participants will stay at Binna Burra Mountain Lodge from $690.00 twin share
including all meals and accommodation and this cost includes workshops, seminars
and rainforest field trips under the guidance of professional photographer,
Michael Snedic.
The retreat will suit both beginner photographers and those more experienced and will include expert tuition in both digital and film SLR cameras
Michael Snedic is passionate about his photography. “ Many of my most memorable experiences, whether at work or play, have revolved around the fascinating world of natural history. It only seems fitting that I now spend much of my time photographing and sharing my passion with others,” He said. “As a young boy, growing up in Sydney, most of my spare time was spent hiking along creeks, bushland and forests, looking for birds, mammals, frogs, lizards and the like. I also tended my vast collection of native birds and was involved with many avicultural and conservation societies, as well as being fascinated by David Attenborough documentaries.”
Michael has worked as a bird keeper at Sydney's Taronga Park Zoo and as an environmental educator and a nature-based guide in Lamington National Park, which is situated high in the ranges overlooking the coastal plains of the Gold Coast.
“It was whilst I was working in the World Heritage Listed Lamington National Park that I was fortunate to finally meet and work with my life-long inspiration, Sir David Attenborough, as well as other formidable wildlife documentary makers and photographers. Photographing Australia's natural world started in 1996 and since that time I have embarked on numerous photographic field trips. These have included places such as Kakadu National Park (Northern Territory), Carnarvon Gorge National Park (Queensland), the Blue Mountains (New South Wales) as well as countless projects whilst living in Lamington National Park.”
Michael Snedic is one of only five people in the world to have photographed the elusive and rare Albert's Lyrebird male whilst it was displaying. This time-consuming process involved sitting in a camouflaged hide for seven weeks, many hours each day, waiting for that elusive shot.
With patience like that, modest or shy photographers will be in good hands during the forthcoming photography retreat at Binna Burra Mountain Lodge. Ph 1800 074 260 or see the website www.binnaburralodge.com.au
