Rendezvous Baohong Hotel, Sanya, Opens In “Hawaii Of The
Orient”
Clear turquoise waters, white sand beaches and
year-round tropical climate; not Hawaii…this is Hainan Island in the South China
Sea, known as the “Hawaii of the Orient”, China’s only well-developed beach
resort destination and the location of Rendezvous Baohong Hotel Sanya, opening
on 1st October 2005. Sanya is one of the two major cities on the island, and is
primarily a hub to access the neighbouring beach resorts. The hotel, Rendezvous
Hotels & Resorts International’s (Rendezvous) latest project in China, is
located in the heart of the picturesque Dadonghai Bay (Great East Sea Bay) area,
one of the three major beaches near Sanya and will be at the forefront of major
new international developments in Hainan Island.
Along with the wealth of scenic resources including dazzling white beaches, hot springs, Nanshan Mountain (regarded as a sacred place by Buddhists) and the famous Tianya-Haijiao (the End of the Earth scenic area embodying traditional Chinese culture, which attracts millions of visitors each year), the Sanya area is also home to a wide variety of fascinating cultural festivals. These include the annual Hainan International Coconut Festival, The Longevity Festival and this year Sanya will also be host to both the 100th anniversary of the China Movie Awards Ceremony in November and the Miss World Finals in December!
Rendezvous Baohong Hotel Sanya offers 258 rooms and 76 suites including a Presidential Suite and is divided into two parts; the hotel building and the recreation centre connected by Straits Coffee Shop, a western-style restaurant. The hotel building features the Baohong Chinese Restaurant, a grand dinner hall for 250 persons, and 33 private VIP dining rooms. The recreation centre has four floors, with a huge 25-meter high lobby featuring a night club, bar, Karaoke, restaurant and coffee shop. The hotel is only 500 meters from the 7 kilometer white sand beach and crystal-clear waters where guests can enjoy a range of water sports or simply relax. For guests combining leisure with business, the hotel also provides secretarial and business centre services, high-speed internet access, wireless broadband and a variety of meeting and function rooms catering for groups from 10 to 550, theatre-style.

We are delighted to have a strong local management team headed by Frank Vieira as General Manager, who brings with him substantial international hotel experience with Radisson and Sheraton throughout the Asian Pacific area”
