2004 Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins Gets Stuck in Mud
in Korea for the Great Outdoors
Australia’s Miss Jennifer Hawkins, the 2004 Miss
Universe visit to the Boryeong Mud
Festival in Korea will be broadcast on Channel Seven’s The Great Outdoors
next Monday, 29 August at 7.30pm.
It was quite a change for Jennifer from the glamour and catwalks of her Miss
Universe reign to getting down and dirty in the mud at the annual Mud Festival
in Boryeong city. The festival attracts a huge number of foreign visitors who
come to the city to enjoy the mud festival events that take place over the
opening weekend.
Jennifer Hawkins in her new role as presenter for The Great Outdoors had
great fun filming all the highlights of the mud festival enjoying mud massages,
mud slides, mud wrestling and other events.
The production team were hosted to Korea by Korea National Tourism
Organization and spent ten days in Korea last month filming three segments for
the Great Outdoors. Aside from filming the mud festival Jennifer filmed a
segment on the beautiful semi-tropical island of Jeju which features the famous
island women divers and a Seoul shopping segment for the interest of viewers to
the program.
It is expected that the Korean stories to be broadcast on Australia’s highest
rating television travel program will increase awareness and raise interest in
Korea.
Australian arrivals to Korea have been growing consistently in the past few
years and from January to July this year there has been a 10.2 per cent increase
over the same period last year.
So be watching to see how stunning our former Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins
looks even when she’s covered in mud.
