The August issue is now on sale and
full of the inspirational and informative. Features include:
The B.S. Behind B&Bs The August
issue reveals the tricks behind B&B guides. We get the inside story from a
writer who’s reviewed over 600 B and Bs in his time and is happy to reveal how
you can crack the code.
Wondrous
Encounters Sharks, dolphins, whales and seals – finding the
most marvelous of interactive encounters with these sea creatures is a question
of patience and careful research. We’ve done the hard work: check the results in
this month’s issue, and get your snorkel into gear.
Special Feature: The Gold Coast
Fantasies Explaining the allure of the Gold Coast can be a
difficult task. Long-term resident Tim Baker just about pulls it off in an
exhaustive account of the many attractions of his adopted home. Everything you
ever wanted to know about the Coast With The Most, Australia’s most popular
tourism destination, is presented in August AT: where to stay, where to
surf, how to have big-time fun, and how to recover from the whole experience.
The Old Coast North
Stradbroke maintains the allure of the old world coastal destination.
AT walks you through it.
So – you want
to be a travel writer?
AT
is calling for contributions to our new readers’ section. Stories of up to
1000 words will be considered for publication, and they’ll have a better chance
if accompanied by good photos. We’ll have great prizes in store for
contributions that make it into print … so if you always wanted to call yourself
a published travel writer, now’s your chance.
We’re also looking for
cute postcards and arresting snaps – which will be rewarded with great prizes.
We’re working on the prize pool, and will shortly be in a position to announce
some quite amazing (really) booty to be carried off by contributors to that
section. Some serious advice: get in quick, before the secret stash of prizes
becomes public knowledge.
We want your
opinion
We’re still looking for readers’ votes for
our “prettiest and ugliest towns” poll. We were inundated at AT with heated
emails in response to the article we ran on “drive-through towns” in our first
issue, and now we want to know how Consulting Editor Suzi Petkovski’s opinions
stack up against those of our readers. So click here and lodge your vote for
Australia’s prettiest and ugliest town. You only get one choice for each, so
give it some thought. Click here
to express your opinion.
