Flying from the east coast of Australia to Vietnam takes only 8 hours, to arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and with an easy transfer you can be in Vietnam’s capital Ha Noi.
You’ll arrive to a smorgasbord to history, culture, tradition and beauty. Visitors can experience the cosmopolitan society of Ha Noi, from Ha Noi visit other wonderful destinations such as Sa Pa and Ha Long Bay.
Sa Pa is located in the far north of Vietnam and has 54 local minority groups, where many of the arts and crafts come from. Ha Long Bay is approximately 3 to 4 hours from Ha Noi, the outstanding beauty of the bay with over 3,000 rock formations rising out of the bay. Many tours offer overnights stay on the boat or a night on Cat Ba Island is also popular.
Vietnam stretches 1,600 kilometers from North to South and borders with China, Laos and Cambodia. This makes Vietnam the perfect destination to arrive and visit the neighboring countries. As you travel down south you can visit the ancient capital Hue that is located on the Perfume River.

Continuing along the coast to Nha Trang with its beautiful beaches and notoriously delicious seafood, and further south to the mountainous area of Da Lat, which is often referred to as the Paris of the East.
In the busy city of HCM City you can make a day of visiting the art galleries, museums and great shopping in either the more exclusive shops in Dong Khoi street to the cheaper in the Ben Thanh markets. There are many other day trips that can be made to Cu Chi Tunnels and the Me Kong Delta River.
Back in 2002, Vietnam Airlines re-launched itself with its new corporate identity. This is where the Golden Lotus image was introduced and incorporated into the image, design and color scheme of Vietnam Airlines all around the world.
The lotus flower represents a symbol of our ancient culture and their ability to withstand great adversity and retain their unique traditions. The lotus is associated with enlightenment and perfection.
In the last few years the airline has dramatically grown and now has daily flights from Australia to Vietnam. We currently fly to 18 destinations within Vietnam and 38 international destinations around Indochina and Europe. In the near future the airline will be operating direct flights from Vietnam to the USA.

As the infrastructure in Vietnam has had to keep up with the popularity of the destination, it has been necessity to build new airports to accommodate the growth in travel. Noi Bai International Airport in the capital Ha Noi was updated in 2002, a further update of Noi Bai will commence in the next few year.
