Qantas to launch Buenos Aires flights
Qantas will launch its first non-stop services to South America in November with three flights per week from Sydney to Buenos Aires. The move was forecast by Travel Today last month.
It will operate a B747-400 aircraft on the route on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Qantas previously offered a one-stop service to the Argentine capital, via Auckland, between 1998 and 2002.
The new services, which start on November 24, will also offer passengers connections to other South American destinations, including Brazil.
“These network developments will enable us to grow business and leisure travel to and from Argentina and strengthen tourism and trade links between Australia and South America,” Qantas executive general manager John Borghetti said.
Qantas has a codeshare partnership with LAN into Chile with LAN Argentina expected to codeshare on the new Buenos Aires route.
