The JNTO are working very hard to change our perception about Japan. Australian & New Zealand travellers have a misunderstanding that Japan is exclusively an expensive destination to visit. Some places are and like any other of the world’s major cities, Tokyo can be as expensive as you like. Thankfully for us average travellers, the JNTO has produced a very handy brochure called “Affordable Japan” providing a price guide and tips showing that accommodation, food & sightseeing need not break anyone’s budget.

Tokyo Tower and Mt. Fuji, Tokyo

Japan is geographically perfect as a stopover or a holiday destination in its own right. There are numerous wholesale partners in Australia & New Zealand that have put together very affordable holidays catering to everyone’s budget.

Pre-booking, especially accommodation is essential for Japanese travel. The Japanese people themselves travel a lot as do many school groups. So to keep within your client’s budget book them well in advance. The JNTO’s website lists all the major Festivals making pre-planning easy without disappointment.
