Since that fateful day in September 2001, our attention has been drawn to all manner of travel dangers. Our lives are limited by our fears, and we all know someone who’s too scared to fly. Some people, of course, are mortified at the thought of even walking out the door. All of life's a risk, but what are the real odds of meeting your maker while taking a holiday or business trip?

Travel Health Issue - May 2005

Travel health is something that is often overlooked when planning a holiday.  Getting ill while away or when you return from overseas can often ruin the entire holiday.  With around half of all Australian’s who go overseas reporting some kind of illness while away, it makes good sense to seek specialist travel health advice before travelling.

Dr Tony Gherardin, is the National Medical Advisor of Australia’s largest travel health group, the Travel Doctor – TMVC.  Here are a few of the travel health issues he is frequently asked about.

Outrigger Hotels & Resorts began as the dream of Roy C. Kelley, who pioneered the concept of family-style hotel rooms in Waikiki. Together with his wife, Estelle, he helped bring the dream of a vacation in Paradise within the reach of the average, middle-class traveler. In so doing, he not only created what has become the largest hotel chain in Hawaii, but also changed forever the face of Hawaii's visitor industry.
